I realize that it's the people behind the gun that kill, not the gun, but children can get hols of guns and kill someone without meaning to. And our soilders in Iraq? They're all just old greedy white guys looking to ring every buck out of this world that they can. Shallow, evil people. We wonder why terrorist seem to be popping out of nowhere, but we fail to see that we're creating them by stirring things up there. We should have stayed out in the first place, but since we didn't we should fix things and get out of the middle east. We're also looking in the completely opposite direction. We all know now that it's Iran that's training and hiding all the terrorist. The Iraq war was just a publicity stunt so we could get more oil.

2004-08-19 [sophomoric]: The economy hasn't gone up, the American dollar is doing worse than it has for a long time... and the US is suffering from an all-time high deficit, as well as suffering from an over-financed military that is more than that of the world in its entirety. Sorry to break it to you, but while Bush is a decent person, his leadership skills are severely lacking in a situation of this nature. The war on Iraq would have been a much better event if he had waited for more global support. Though props to him for the removal of Hussein.

If the media hadn't attacked him, and he hadn't done something that was amazingly stupid, he would have been considered one of the best presidents ever. He actually completely fixed the national debt, and brought it way above zero. But the moment bush got in office, everything changed. 2004-08-26 [sophomoric]: One thing you need keep in mind is that regardless of what had occured, the collapse of the economy has been played in part by the overwhelming amount of money that has been spilled into the military.

2004-08-26 [sophomoric]: The funny thing about that is that that is a load of BS.... For one, the military budget, upon Clinton's exit was 360 billion dollars per year. The second leading military power being Russia, which had 60 billion dollars per year. If the United States were at all intent on seeing the world develop into something peaceful, the most appropriate conditions would be to wait for global support from AT LEAST the majority of its allies, as well as effectively instating a co-dependence rather than pumping its military budget up over 700 billion dollars per year (more than all the other military budgets in the world... TOGETHER)

Nationalism never benefitted anyone. In Germany, it was nationalism that allowed for World War Two to break out as quickly as it did. Because we view ourself with borders and seperations, we will never successfully accomplish any form of achievement of peace. It will just be one country dominating another until that one crumbles. Besides, if the money doesn't mean that much, then why pour so much into it? Why not just finance things like the educational system; it's severely lacking in a great many places and even 200 billion dollars funneled into it

We had the best relations that we've ever had with Ireland... And Bush went in office and has begun to completely ignore those relations. And the other relations with countries that aren't particularly financially beneficial to the 'ol U.S. of A.

Of course, it isn't entirely Bush's fault, nor were many of the things that occured Clinton's fault. It also deals with the entire political structure, so that would include both the senate and the house of representatives as worthy of being blamed for supporting these illogical and economically destructive acts.

Socialism, is to say the least, awful, and leads to communism. I say shut down the borders to illegal immigrants, kick the terrorists' holy butts, and stop making America into another Canada or whatnot. Did you know that thanks to socialism, Canada and England now have third-world care for people with life-threatening illnesses, and are going the vet's to get their brain tumors scanned and treated? For example, varying on the surgery (I had sugery September 29, 2003) it is paid for by the government. Therefore, operations that are necessary to someone's well-being are actually affordable, rather than people struggling to raise enough money to pay for the procedure. It was an excellent attempt at slandering Canada, however, it was an extremely flawed argument. Especially since Socialism and communism are extremely different.

If you look in any college text on government, you'll see that the next step to the left from socialism is communism. Excuse if I'm wrong, but with communism one is supposed to submit all his property to the government, while with socialism it's more inclined towards extreme taxation, and lots of free stuff. You steal from Jim to give to Jack, and that's wrong. I don't live in Canada, but I've heard a lot of stories...

Keep the following in mind: Communism is the even distribution of wealth for everyone, socialism is taxation of the people for the benefit of the whole. If the government owns the industries that exist locally, then the income from such industries could go straight into the government, while maintaining reasonably low prices. That way the government's taxation needn't be as high. At first, higher taxes would be a point of necessity but reduction is possible at later stages. It also depends on how much you make, how much you get taxed. Those in the lower classes are actually taxed considerably less in Canada than

People making Salaries over 100,000 dollars are taxed of about half of it (keeping in mind that this allows for them to still maintain a comfortable level of living). It allows for people to be treated better overall while providing favourable conditions. Oh, and the American dream of rags to riches is more likely to come to fruition in Canada than in the US.
